"Your brain predicts, prepares, and simulates everything you do... Mind and body are completely intertwined."

Lisa Feldman Barrett

My name is Roger Packham, and my passion is helping individuals, couples, and young people move out of exhausting survival loops and step into a life of earned security.

I work with a wide range of common mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and developmental trauma. I am also experienced in working with neurodiversity, autism and ADHD.

I am a BACP-registered humanistic integrative counsellor and certified trauma professional. My practice is built on a clear foundational philosophy: you are a whole, unique, living human being. You are not a collection of broken parts to be fixed, nor are you a disembodied mind separate from your physical body.

On my own therapeutic journey, I have realized that no single psychological model held the complete key to trauma and relationship repair.

I designed my practice to be a complete, integrated engine for transformation. By anchoring the relational maps of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Attachment Theory within contemporary neuroscience, and then pairing them with practical communication tools, I have developed a framework that I believe addresses the complete human ecosystem.

When you sit in a room with me, you aren't getting passive head-nodding or rigid, clinical lecturing. You are getting a collaborative, scientifically validated map to dismantle old, automated defence habits and reconstruct a resilient, securely attached life.

Qualifications:

Masters Degree (MEd) with a focus on Resilience
Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling
Level 5 Certificate in Counselling Children & Young People
Certificate in Applied Therapeutic Skills

Further training includes:

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

  • Relational & Spiritual Trauma: Helping individuals heal from historical, deep-seated boundary violations, institutional or spiritual abuse, and the profound somatic shame that follows.

  • Attachment Repair & Interpersonal Cycles: Working with individuals and couples to break free from chronic anxious flooding or avoidant walls, replacing reactive habits with secure, fluent co-regulation.

  • Children and Adolescent Behavioural Architecture: Supporting young people and families by translating "acting out" or severe anxiety into understandable body-budget needs, building emotional granularity from the ground up.

Professional Standards & The BACP 2026 Commitment

Your psychological and biological safety is the bedrock of my practice. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and my practice operates in strict accountability to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Every consultation, session, and take-home tool I provide is explicitly structured around these mandatory ethical pillars:

  • Being Trustworthy: Honouring the sacred trust you place in me to hold your story safely.

  • Autonomy: Respecting your absolute right to remain the captain of your own ship and direct your own path to integration.

  • Beneficence & Non-Maleficence: Actively promoting your holistic well-being while enforcing safe somatic, psychological, and digital boundaries to protect your system from trauma hijacks.
